2011 STELLAR AWARD NOMINEES…WERE YOU THINKING THIS TOO??
- Don’t you think Bebe & Cece are going to sweep the Stellars? Umm but should they considering that their album “Still” was, well C*******! You fill in the letters!
- Aren’t there some categories that you really don’t care about like Children’s Project of the Year & “Music Video of the Year?!?! Gerald luv da kids though! lol
- AND WHY WAS TRIN-I-TEE 5:7 nominated for a Stellar? Did they release something that I wasn’t aware of? And I KNOW they aren’t talking about that skeptical Christmas album they released?!?!
- Who is Kristina Halloway and why is she nominated for New Artist of the Year?? Do you have her CD because I’ve NEVER heard of her!!
- And Bebe & Cece coming together after 15 years is not a Special Event CD. It’s called a hiatus, a break, doing solo careers…shall I go on??
- Music Video of the Year…SERIOUSLY?!?! Does anyone care and most of those videos have you even seen!
- Is it me or did you forget that J. Moss’ “Just James” came out this year?
- What was that Stellar Award Nomination show that aired on G.M.C? I got what they were going for, but still…CRICKETS!
- Don’t you find it interesting that Donnie is hosting the show alone this year?!?! I wonder how Kirk and Vickie feel? I’d feel some kind of way!
- Weren’t you surprised Y’Anna Crawley wasn’t nominated for anything?! Yet Cece Winans was nominated for Best Female Vocal?!!? Did she release a solo CD?? Truth be told they could have switched out Kristina Halloway because I hate to beat a dead horse, but HAVE YOU HEARD OF HER?!?!

You must be part of James Fortune’s managment team, because certainly you had to have some type of opinion about him being nominated for “Best Male VOCALIST”. Come on now….love his music, but he does not sing. I have no issues with his other nominations…just that one.

Also I was told the cut off this year was June 30th, so Y’anna wouldn’t have been eligible…of course, the argument last year was how did they change the date, seemingly to accomodate Vicki Winans’ cd….hmm….

I agree w/ all your “I was thinking…” except I loved “Just James” and still do. Also, I’m tired of Donnie as host, Kirk, Yolanda & Vicki….nobody else can host but them…come on!

For the comment about Trin-i-tee 5:7. They have been in the game going on 13 years. The fact that they can release something as “skeptical” as a Christmas CD and still be nominated speaks volumes!

I haven’t watched the Stellar Awards in years and judging from the comments its seems to be lame. However, it is nice for gospel artist to be recgonized even if we have no idea who they are. To be fair the secular award shows are hyped and the shows are wack. I don’t always know who all the artist are either and the one’s that win don’t deserve to in my opinion. (I support Kanye’s opinion 100% lol). So I’m not gonna knock the Stellars down, hopefully they take a survey and can step their game up in the future. I’m not mad at the Music Video category either. The artist need to step their game up in that area as well; as a matter of fact GMC needs to step it up! Lord we need help lol

I’m tired of the artist hosting the stellar’s; especially Donnie, Vickie, Yolanda, and Kirk. Donnie is always trying to have church or preach. Ok we get it we need to praise God in everything we do but there is a time and place to have church and then there is a time and place just to have fun. The stellar’s should be a place for fun. Yolanda is overrated, yes I know she’s been under the radar for a while but it’s not been long enough for me. Vickie she’s not overrated but I’m just tired of her hosting. And Kirk I just don’t like him if he’s not performing. They should let someone like Rickey Smiley or Cedric The Entertainer host, I’ve seen both of them do clean shows before, or even Steve Harvey whom I’m tired
of seeing but he’ll be better than Donnie. And I was wondering the same thing what is Trin-I-Tee 5:7 nominated for? The stellar’s need to change their cut off date because I had forgotten about J. Moss. Even the Grammy’s is in February and their cut off date is like September or October. The new artist category I always over look because usually I’ve never heard of any them and this year is no different. It’s the stellar’s so I don’t expect much out of them anyway.

Heard of him, he’s funny but I’ve seen him at Bobby Jones’ retreat and on the stellar’s when he presented one time and he wasn’t that funny in those settings. But he was funny on the Jamie Foxx presents DVD, I guess it depends on the setting.

Disappointed with some of the nominations this year. And who in THEE world is Kristina Holloway?? Not attending Stellars becuase of the Nomination Show…that pretty much killed it for me…

1). lol lol LMBO i actually gave my sister my copy of STILL and i thought, “Ok, so when can i expect to hear another album by Cece winans already?!?!?!” but glad they’re back together (nuthin like family) 2). Music Video of the Year should stay but the kids category?! 3). trin i tee released their album in 2007 and they re released it with 3 additonal tracks but i thought they already won awards from that album?! what is the cut off date (or time frame) for nominations?! and when is CHANELLE gonna release a solo album? ADRIAN is now gone so…. 4). IDK 5). LOL …7). JUST JAMES WAS AIIGHT ….8). i really wasn’t surprised that Yanna wasnt nominated…the cd was just ‘ok’ for me

Even though I am quite the gospel music enthusiast and lover of gospel music, I must admit that the genre, it’s sound, presentation, award shows, radio shows, conventions, videos and even some of its artists have become soooooooooo boring and lackluster over the last few years. It’s sad. The fire has died or is dying. Where is the creativity? I seldom pay attention to this genre anymore.

I could only vote in the first three catogery of the stellars.I wanted to vote for the quartet of the year and that would have been Rev F.C.Barnes and Co. Beautiful music on his new CD “The Old time Way” Songs such as “God is God and he won’t change” and”Fix Me ” really the entire CD is beautiful.
