RANDOM THOUGHTS…WERE YOU THINKING THIS TOO??

- What’s up with all these lyric videos?? Are the artists approving these or are fans just making them? I mean I can just look up the lyrics on Google and play the song on iTunes. The label can use that money for something else if you ask me.
- I really do get that everyone’s a worshipper these days, but we’re about to run out of worshipper CD titles quickly…actually I think we already have!
- Maybe if I say it enough something will happen?? Aren’t we ready for some new Gospel programming…because I am! I’m ready to see some younger faces and I just really can’t with Lift Every Voice. Do they still interview Gospel artists?
- And Verity Gospel I thought we discussed this before, but these identical album covers…let’s move on from the mountain top and also standing up against a white wall!
- FYI Black Gospel Promo email blasts are the only ones I want to receive! All these others that are flooding my email box somehow…thanks but no thanks!
- I don’t think some Gospel artists have figured out, that if you’re more personable and friendly in person and on social media, you may sell more records. Just a suggestion.
- How come I can name several white artists that have been relatively successful in the R&B world, but there are virtually none in Gospel. I mean I guess we have Martha Munizzi…but that’s about it. Are we not inclusive or there are just not many who want or can sing Gospel?
- Does anyone in Gospel do media training anymore or does everyone just automatically do interviews or become an on camera talent and BAM you’re a professional.
- Do urban Gospel artists have a chance these days with the exception of Mary Mary?
- Background vocalists that go solo…does it work or does it not work? You tell me?

Lyric Videos are irritating.. really because it’s not a video. .they are merely words flying around on the screen.. but I get it because some people don’t buy music and they are the same choir members that are always searching for the lyrics because they don’t buy music..

Yes, Lift Every Voice needs to go. I was done with them after they interviewed Rick Ross and asked him about his beef with 50cent. Really?! Why was he even on the show and why even ask about that crazy beef?
#6 ITA. And the sad part is its not even big name artist most of the time. It’s these one hit wonders.

#7 I don’t think people are receptive to white gospel artist. They want to hear people holla and run so if you don’t have that you won’t really make it..
#6 I have come in contact with artist who’s attitudes were so nasty! I can’t even worship to their music anymore. It’s disgusting and I want something different.

I second ALL of what you said. There really should be a crossover, because white tends to lean toward deep but dull, while black tends to lean towards spirited but a hot mess.
