R&B GOES GOSPEL: SPANKY WILLIAMS FORMERLY OF MEN OF VIZION

Back in the 90’s there were so many one hit wonder R&B groups it became overwhelming. I have a question though, if you released more than one album are you still considered a one hit wonder?? I don’t know the answer to that, but there was a group called Men of Vizion that released two albums on Michael Jackson’s label “MJJ/EPIC/SONY” label. Men of Vizion was one my favorite male groups back in the day. I still groove to their hit “Housekeeper.” When I heard the lead singer Spanky Williams, I said ok now that’s a   church boy. He tried to keep it sexy, but you could hear the church all in his voice. After Men of Vizion released their second CD they completely fell off the scene. I’m assuming they were dropped from their label. Then one day I can’t remember if I was watching “The Bobby Jones Gospel Show” or “Video Gospel”, but low and behold it was Spanky Williams singing with Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson. I said to myself, “you were right again Gerald!!” They always come back home. (lol) After doing some digging online I discovered Spanky released a Gospel solo project “Personal Testimony” in ’06. I haven’t heard it, so if anyone has checked it out, let me know what you think of it!! If you want to hear more of Spanky he is currently singing with Darrell McFadden & The Disciples. http://www.myspace.com/spukomusic
